What Explains Collaboration in High and Low Conflict Contexts? Comparing Climate Change Policy Networks in Four Countries

چکیده
Explaining collaboration between actors involved in policy processes is crucial for understanding these and their outcomes. The science literature has advanced several hypotheses explicating what enables or hinders collaboration. However, only a handful of studies compare factors across different contexts. This paper investigates the role beliefs influence shaping under conditions high low conflict by estimating Exponential Random Graph Models using network survey data on climate domains four countries. Results show that both are associated with formation ties contexts South Korea United States, whereas neither significant Sweden Switzerland. By considering level conflict, our findings provide more nuanced when shape patterns. The Nutrition Transition in High and Low-Income Countries: What are the Policy Lessons?
The world has seen a remarkable shift from a period when diets, activity patterns and body composition were characterized by the period termed the receding famine pattern to one dominated by nutrition-related non-communicable diseases (NR-NCDs). This presentation first examines the speed of these changes, summarizes dietary changes, and provides some sense of the way the burden of obesity is sh...
متن کاملClimate Change and Crop Yields in Iran and Other OIC Countries
Climate change is the main phenomenon that directly affects the world environment, and changes in the environment affect economic sectors differently. The most important impacts of climate change would be on enhancing the average global temperature and the decrease in precipitation. The agricultural sector is the first and most affected sector in the climate change. We examined the impact of te...
متن کاملMitigation + Adaptation What is the optimal climate change policy mix ?
In dealing with climate change, how much should governments focus their effort on mitigation (emission reduction to prevent climate change) and on adaptation (coping with a changed climate)? Very little research has gone into pinning down which strategy is dynamically optimal under what kind of conditions. This paper contributes to this debate by developing a parsimonious optimal control model ...
متن کاملClimate change. What role for short-lived climate pollutants in mitigation policy?
S hort-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) include methane (CH4), black carbon (BC), tropospheric ozone, and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). They are important contributors to anthropogenic climate change, responsible for as much as one-third of the current total greenhouse forcing ( 1). An emerging strategy, which we refer to as hybrid climate mitigation (HCM), emphasizes reducing SLCPs in parallel wi...
